The Objective to develop the methods to identify and quantify the content of main components in certain dietary supplements (hereinafter - DS). To add the separate section "Dietary Supplements" to the State Pharmacopoeia of Ukraine. METHODS - bibliographical, sociological, analytical, physical, chemical, biological and statistics. RESULTS. The Ukraine legislation analysis showed that DS production in Ukraine is not standardized. The chemical studies have found that multi DS contain natural origin vitamins from raw materials which are not taken into account by manufacturers, and usually in concentrations exceeding the declared. There is established that the control methods described in the Chapter "Dietary Supplements" US Pharmacopeia (USP), can be adapted in Ukraine for the determination of water soluble vitamins, minerals etc. in a dietary supplements. On the basis of identification and content quantitatification in the Ukrainian DS's there is proved the feasibility of using USP methods. The methods adapted to high performance liquid chromatography to determine the water-soluble vitamins B1, B2, B6 and PP are proposed.
