Subject of research: the direction of transformation of the Ukrainian society under the influence of threats and challenges of events at the Donbas and the formation of the new features of social development. The work aimed to assess the prospects and the definition of the main directions of positive social transformation as a response to the challenges and threats of the events at the Donbas, the formation of fundamentals of effective policies to prevent a split of the nation and the development of proposals to the program of action for the consolidation and integration of Ukrainian society. Results of research: a conceptual framework and practical guidelines of political-legal support of the integration of Ukrainian society is formulated: general characteristics of disintegration and integration processes and prospects of development of Ukrainian society is given, a method to assess the socio-economic potential of Donbas, a conceptual policy framework to address the problems of internally displaced persons, the proposals to the draft program and legislative and normative acts on the implementation of the proposed course of action are developed.
