The scientific-theoretical and methodological foundations of a competitive agriculture production and sustainable rural development based on innovation that can provide their further development and effective use of land, labor and material resources are substantiated in the research. The object of research is the process of improving the competitiveness of agriculture production and sustainable rural development. The subject of the research is a complex of theoretical, methodological and applied aspects of the agriculture production competitiveness and sustainable rural development. The study group used the following methods: monographic; settlement and constructive, economic, statistical, scientific comparison, methods of strategic analysis. Results and novelty: reasonably resource-technological concept of competitiveness, the essence of which is to further guiding production to the rational use of resources and innovative technologies that promote the formation of competitiveness of agricultural enterprises in the strengthening of integration processesis set up. The methodical approaches to the assessment of the competitiveness of products, which makes it possible to identify the types of products that are competitive in a particular enterprise, define a region in which the products are competitive, to calculate the impact of resources in production depending on the market environment and regional deployment are grounded. It is proved that the main indicator that reflects the agricultural enterprise levelcompetitiveness, it is appropriate to consider the rate of return on the level of the region and the country - the amount of profit per unit of agricultural land and per head of animals.
