As a results the conditions of localization of electromagnetic radiation in photonic crystals based on bulk and film of synthetic opals with introduced in interglobular space luminescent markers, biological molecules with low quantum yield and diatomic iodine molecules were determined. The characteristics of intrinsic luminescence spectra of synthetic opals and luminescence of impurities in the spectral region of photonic band gap were studied. The effects of luminescence enhancement of biological molecules with low quantum yield incorporated in the synthetic opal were revealed. The results can be used in spectroscopy and photonics in the development of new sensors based on photonic crystals.
