The aim is to improve the reliability of power networks with isolated neutral point by restricting ferroresonance overvoltages, to predict the risk of ferroresonance phenomena in the midst of the specified network and to develop recommendations on network topology correction to prevent ferroresonance overvoltage, and to provide scientific substantiation of the ferroresonance identification and damping ferroresonance overvoltage algorithm. The study used mathematical modeling methods, experimental methods for determining the weber-ampere characteristics of the voltage transformers, methods of mathematical statistics and experimental design, methods of physical modeling, methods of simulation. A computational model has been created for a variety of applications: studying the ferroresonance overvoltage, evaluating the effectiveness of ferroresonance protection devices, establishing the range of the network settings, that enable the development of the ferroresonance. The ferroresonance overvoltage is analyzed considering dispersion of weber-ampere characteristics of voltage transformers. An experimental way to determine the weber- ampere characteristics of voltage measuring transformers has been developed . The method of identification ferroresonance regime based on harmonic analysis of the zero sequence voltage is developed. The experimental stand and software to determine the weber- ampere characteristics of voltage measuring transformers are offered. The engineering method for determining the value of the ballast resistance for ferroresonance extinguishing is developed. A prototype device to ferroresonance overvoltage protection that operates both at subharmonic oscillations, and at ferroresonance at a frequency of 50 Hz and above and has the ability of single-phase arc ground fault mode tune-out is made. Methodical recommendations for correction grid topology considering the number of voltage transformers and network capacity are offered.
