Purpose of the research: development of the basic requirements on organizing and conduct of the researches and methodological works performed due to the order of the State Archival Service of Ukraine. Methods of the research – heuristic, comparative analysis, synthesis, systematization. Resulting from the research, we developed «Assumptions for organizing of scientific researches and methodological works performed due to the order of the State Archival Service of Ukraine». The developed document outlines theoretical and methodological principles, practical aspects and basic requirements for organizing and conduct of the researches by the Ukrainian Research Institute of Archival Affairs and Records Keeping and state archival institutions. It defines the clear mechanism to form and execute the order due to the state budget to conduct applied research on archival affairs and records keeping for all phases of the research; describes the principles and outlines the basic requirements for methodological work conducted by archival institutions. Recommendations for the application of the results of the research, the requirements «Assumptions for organizing of scientific researches and methodological works performed due to the order of the State Archival Service of Ukraine» are applied by the State Archival Service of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Research Institute of Archival Affairs and Records Keeping, state archival institutions of Ukraine and other bodies involved in research works.
