Based on it, the maximum attainable levels of strength for nano-sized crystals are predicted. These results create the physical basis for high-field technology of manufacturing of nano-probes and nano-emitters for modern high-resolution field-ion and probe microscopy. They were used when selecting modes of high-field technology for obtaining and mechanical annealing of nano-needle-like crystals of tungsten and molybdenum.
