Methods of mathematical optimal control theory have been used to create algorithms and computer programs for the determination of optimal conditions whereby maximum characteristics of thermoelectric energy converters and measuring instruments are realized. Optimal inhomogeneity functions of thermoelectric materials (FGM) based on Ві-Те, Pb-Te, Si-Ge materials and optimal та parameters of thermoelements have been determined. The foundations of the theory and methods of reproduction of thermoelectric materials, devices and instruments designed on the basis of computer technologies have been developed, their energy characteristics have been studied and the respective corrections have been proposed in order to achieve maximum efficiency values. The cycle of investigations performed will become a material science basis for creation of high-performance thermoelectric energy converters, namely measuring instruments, coolers and generators using thermal waste from industry, gas turbines, internal combustion engines and medical devices.
