The parameters of the crystal structure and thermal expansion are determined, the effect of "chemical pressure", electron concentration, defect structure and temperature on spin and structural phase transitions in specifying the materials is studied, phase diagrams are build. Nanopowders of perovskites are synthesized and their phase composition, sizes and morphology of grains are studied. From the synthesized powders, the ceramic samples are prepared for research for their use as elements of gas sensors. A method for studying the magnetic moment and sizes of superparamagnetic nanoparticles such kind as "magnetic core - shell polymer" is developed. Magnetic properties of synthesized nanopowders of maghemite, their composites and colloidal systems based on them are investigated by this method. The phase composition, average sizes and differential magnetic susceptibility of nanoparticles are determined. The changes in the optical characteristics of single crystals of LiNbO3 with depth are studied depending on temperature, treatment time and environment (hydrogen and oxygen) in which a thermochemical annealing was conducted, and crystallographic direction.
