Object of study: retrospective collections of Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv. Objective: To study the history and characteristics of the retrospective collections; bibliographic reconstruction of historical collections, their registration and certification. The methodological basis was formed by general scientific principles of objectivity, consistency, reliability, as well as historical, bibliographic descriptive, structural and typological, diachronic, simultaneous, historical and bibliological methods, special techniques of bibliography and method of bibliographical reconstruction. Registration of historical library collections was carried out, bibliological annotating was conducted, databases "Historical Library collections in Vasyl Stefanyk National Scienitific Library of Ukraine in Lviv" were filled up as well as information guide "Libraries of Ukrainian figures". Database of Ucrainica in the holdings of Ossolinski National Institute in Wroclaw was also filled up. During review and retrospective analysis of collections of old books, rare books and maps provenances were fixed, bookplates and ownership stamps; bibliographic description of the components (books, map) of retrospective holdings, their certification was made. The study of Lviv bibliophiles contribution in regional Librarianship was continued. The research results were published in 1 book (Documentary essay by L. Kusyj "The History of Special Collection Department of Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv") and 17 articles, announced in 18 conference presentations. Second volume of documents and materials under title "Vasyl Stefanyk National Scientific Library of Ukraine in Lviv: displacement and loss of assets 1946 - March 1953" was prepared to be printed.
