The main attention was paid on the establishment of basic plasma parameter's dependencies in compressive plasma streams on initial conditions. It is experimentally shown that initial concentration of the working gas reducing at various other conditions: value of the discharge current and integral mass flow increases plasma density in the compression zone. Detailed study of discharge current spatial distributions in the plasma streams at different concentrations of working gases in the MPC channel has been done. It is found that reducing the initial concentration, under these experimental results, leads to currents displacement out of the compression zone. Dynamics of plasma streams generated by MPC with gases of considerably different masses (helium and argon) has been studied. The residual gas quantity (initial gas concentration) ranged from 0.2 to 10 Torr so as to maintain a constant total mass flow rate. Changing the sort of gas, while the initial pressure change given the opportunity to explore the compression zone formation and plasma parameters depends on the initial concentration integral at constant mass flow.
