Overburden (clay, loam, sand), during development of titanium-zirconium placers, it is more advisable to use for remediation. Ore minerals in the sands of Malyshevskiy technogenic deposits (Vilnohirsk MMC) are zircon, rutile, leucoxene and ilmenite. Mostly they are concentrated in the fraction - 0.16 + 0.06 mm. Kyanite, sillimanite, staurolite and tourmaline have a relatively high content. Research of material composition of tailings of Irshansk group of deposits showed that 60 wt.% of sand grains have size of particles 0.5 + 0.125 mm; heavy fraction is 15 wt.%, nonmetallic fraction -85 - 95 wt.%. Ore minerals are mainly: ilmenite, rutile, zircon and ilmenorutile. The presence of zircon as the main mineral, containing zirconium( mass fraction of zirconium in the waste 0.05 - 0.5 wt.%), allows to estimate technogenic sands of Irshansk group of deposits as a raw material for titanium, zirconium and building sand.
