The object of study is planktonic and benthic communities of aquatic organisms of the Black Sea. The purpose of work is assessment of the quality of the marine ecosystem by biological methods. Methods of research is the study of aquatic communities at biocenotic level and evaluation of the state of planktonic and benthic communities in marine ecosystems. The studies were carried out in different areas of the north-western shelf of the Black Sea. The report presents the results of observations of hydrobiological components of the Black Sea marine environment in 2015, as well as the environmental criteria of the biota for assessment of the quality of the marine environment by the indicators of aquatic organisms. Actual information about photosynthetic pigments of microalgae, phytoplankton, zooplankton, macrozoobenthos and meiobenthos in the different areas of the sea is presented, and also the results of visual and photo-identification studies on white-sided dolphins which were carried out from the shore in the port "Yuzhnyj" (Grigorievsky estuary, the Black Sea).
