The regularities are theoretical basis for the application of non-pillar protection of main workings. Complex of scientific researches consisted of a in-site instrumental observations and numerical modeling of geomechanical processes in the soil of the developed coal seam in the initial period of the lava. According to the results of field observations established that the processing of mine working the initial period of movement of lava the area of sustainable development of the state is forming, where the deformation is small. According to the results of numerical modeling of a timetable-nomogram was developed, which enables the design phase of developments, determine the increase in vertical stress of the developed in the soil formation. A method of protection of the main workings, according to which mine working are exposed to temporary resistant reference pressure followed by their operation in unloaded areas is developed. Application of this method of protection of the main mine workings in the mines of Western Donbass enhance the completeness of the recess reserves and reduce the cost of maintaining the workings.
