The aim is the determination of the most applicable wavelength range for the in-line estimation of the component percentage of two-component substances. The research involved computer modeling, analytical and experimental methods. Results: Models of measuring cells based on rectangular waveguides were designed in this work for the study of the two-component substances properties. Computer simulation of the frequency dependence of the parameters of these cells on the dielectric properties and the internal structure of two-component lossless and lossy dielectric samples was conducted. Algorithms for determining the permittivity of two-component materials were designed by using the computer simulation results. The effective permittivity of two-component lossless and lossy dielectric materials was determined. Sketch drawings were designed and models of waveguide- and resonator-type experimental cells were made by using the simulation results. Experimental studies of the effect of the water quantity in aqueous solutions of starch and black oil on their absorption and reflection spectra were conducted. It was shown that the most accurate estimate of the percentage of in-line components for the discussed two-component substances may be implemented in the centimeter and decimeter wavelength range of electromagnetic waves. Fields of application: instrumentation, measuring equipment: design and development of systems for the non-destructive testing and verification of the dielectric properties of substances in the in-line technology. The results can be used in the development of sensors for monitoring the dielectric properties of multicomponent substances in the in-line technology and in the development of semiconductor microwave devices.
