The aim of the study is to explore individual and breed features of the genetic structure of different horse breeds by means of microsatellite loci. Theoretical and methodological basis of the study are the fundamental work of leading researchers in the field of horse genetics Research methods - theoretical and methodological basis of fundamental research is leading local researchers in genetics horses, the legislative acts of Ukraine, regulating the genetic researches in this sphere. The study used the following methods: molecular genetic (isolation of genomic DNA, amplification of microsatellite loci using polymerase chain reaction, fraction of the PCR products by gel electrophoresis on an automated sequencer), statistics (analysis of the data using modern software). The value of these results is the improving of assessment of genetic Ukrainian Rider, Hucul, Thoroughbred horses and Shetlend ponies by microsatellite loci of DNA. Methodical approach to the examination of genetic parentage verification of different horse breeds, which is to identify the most informative microsatellite loci for a particular species, that will improve the efficiency of genetic parentage verification and reduce the cost of its implementation. The use of these approaches are possible in the area of horse breeding.
