The purpose of the work is production technology improvement of low cement corundum silicon carbide castable. The research methods are physicochemical, physicomechanical, thermomechanical, petrographic and electronically-microcopy ones. The researches of amount influence of vibromilling brown fused corundum mud produced by PJSC "ZAPOROZHABRAZIV", instead vibromilling brown fused corundum and alumina grade of "ГК", on the properties of low cement corundum silicon carbide castable grade of "КККБС" and samples from this castable have been carried out. Taking into attention the properties indices of low cement corundum silicon carbide castable, including its flowing, plastic strength, as well as high strength of samples, it has been confirmed the full replacement possibility of vibromilling brown fused corundum on vibromilling brown fused corundum mud. As a result of carried out electronically-microcopy researches the mechanism of coagulative structure forming of the studied low cement corundum silicon carbide castables has been determined. It was founded that, in the hardening process during 2 days after water addition the strongest structure is formed in the samples from castable, containing vibromilling brown fused corundum mud instead vibromilling brown fused corundum, due to formation of consolidated framework from glacial phases of calcium hydroaluminates, alumina hydrate and mud gel. In PJSC "THE URIR NAMED AFTER A.S. BEREZHNOY" the pilot batches of low cement castables and products on their base have been manufactured and intended to customers. The work shall be continued in the line of improved production technology mastering of low cement corundum silicon carbide castable containing vibromilling brown fused corundum mud and carrying out its industrial tests.
