The aim - improving the quality of hardware by optimizing the chemical composition, structure and heat treatment parameters. Research methods - microscopy, X-ray phase analysis, hardness measurement, determination of mechanical properties, abrasion testing, and the study of the relief of the worn surface. The contributions of ionic and covalent metal-bond in the total energy interatomic binary solutions were obtained for main impurity elements in metals used as alloying element in modern steels. The cast iron with a small content of vanadium increased durability. The structure and properties of steel E36 after controlled rolling and normalizing were investigated. It was found that after normalizing rolling at 930-950 °C characteristics of the mechanical properties the requirements of the customer. The influence of quenching temperature on the wear resistance showed that the highest rates were obtained after hardening at 1080 °C and tempering at 200 °C carburized steel 20Mn1,4.
