This research includes theoretical and calculational studies of torque acting on individual elements of a powerful turbine generator shaft during abnormal conditions of its work. In particular, the transients caused by symmetric and asymmetric short circuit, and turbogenerator out-of-phase closing with the power system. To reduce low-frequency torsional vibrations of powerful turbo generators shaft a special asynchronous damping device was developed.
