Kyrdyumov Institute for Metall Physics of N.A.S. of Ukraine popup.description2 A method of determining the parameters of short-range order by the experimental data, diffuse scattering of X-rays and neutrons polycrystals of binary substitutional Fe-Ni alloys was developed, which makes it possible to determine the parameters range order in solid interstitial Fe-Ni-C solutions. Established that mechanical alloying of Invar Fe-Ni alloy powders causes direct martensitic transition, while in the case of Invar alloy Fe-Ni-C doped carbon is both direct and with increasing duration of treatment the reverse martensitic transition. At the heart of the stages of transition in Fe-Ni-C alloy during mechanical alloying lays in structure grinding and deformation induced redistribution of chemical elements in solid solution, including additional increase of carbon concentration in the austenitic phase due to partial dissolution of the graphite fraction. The obtained results in the work and established physical laws are scientific and practical importance for the development of the theory of mechanical alloying and technology that based on processes of plastic deformation.
