Blocks were made by LTD "Bilocerkovskiy plant "Tribo". Stationary tests preceded field tests in order to determine pressure intensity of brake blocks and passenger cars gross mass. Also geometric and mass indexes of the cars were inspected to meet the requirements of design documentation. Many years of successfull operation of cast-iron standard brake blocks has shown that they have constant friction parameters under different weather conditions. New materials for the composition brake blocks of passenger cars are searched for in order to improve their parameters. Passenger cars with composition brake blocks made by LTD "Bilocerkovskiy plant "Tribo" were tested in a field conditions. The tests were held in the train that goes from Kyiv to Truskavets. During the tests the wear nature of the "block-wheel" pair and their wear rate were controlled. As a result, prediction of experimental brake blocks wear rate was created. Indexes of reliability of the press material with the code Тр119/14 satisfy the requirements for the brake blocks of the rolling stock. That is why they are recommended to be used on the passenger car rolling stock.
