Speed (1-6 rpm) and the rotating of table are controlled by the computer. Modulated rotation of the table is required for the preparation of "cross-section" samples without damaging the surface layers. A separate high voltage source is required for each ion gun. Working voltage on the electrodes of ion gun is 3 - 4 kV. A high voltage source varies within 100 V to 8 kV, ion current of 10 mA/cm2. The ionic current depends on the voltage on the electrodes of the ion gun, and the amount of argon, which is fed into the gun. The vacuum in the working chamber should be 10-6тоrr.
