It was determined that nitride coating with composition close to stoichiometric (TiN0,83) can be formed on the surface of VT6 titanium alloy at TА= 850oC, А= 12 h, pN2=105 Pа, and oxynitride coating with composition close to equiatomic (TiN0,46O0,54) during oxidation of nitride at pО2=0,001 Pа. It was shown that corrosion resistance of nitride coating TiN0,83 and oxynitride coating TiN0,46O0,54 in isotonic 0,9% solution of NaCl which simulates blood plasma, and in Ringer's solution which simulates tissue environment, is higher on an order of magnitude than the titanium alloy without surface modification. It was determined that temperature increase of 0,9% NaCl solution from 36 to 40°C, simulating the transition from a normal to inflammatory condition of the human body, does not influence almost on the corrosion protection of VT6 alloy by oxynitride coating TiN0,46O0,54. It was shown that fretting resistance of nitride coating TiN0,83 and oxynitride coating TiN0,46O0,54 under the conditions of dry friction and in Ringer's solution is higher than titanium alloy without surface modification.
