It was shown that the morphology and textural characteristics of the samples are determined by the structure of the template. Introduction of second heteroelement (Al) in the crystal lattice of hierarchical Sn- and Zr-containing zeolites leads to increase in conversion of 4-methoxybenzyl aldehyde to 75%. This is caused by the formation of Bronsted acidic centers (during isomorphic incorporation of Al3+ in the lattice), which presumably promote second stage of the tandem-process - esterification of 4-methoxybenzyl alcohol.
