New effective method for the synthesis of 2-triftorometylnicotinic acid, promising pharmacophore for agricultural and medical products, was developed. Unexpectedly ditrifluoroacetylation of dialkoxyethylene afforded new derivatives of trioxobicyclononane with two ethoxycarbonyl and four trifluoromethyl groups. Reactivity of trifluoromethyl derivatives of trioxobicyclononane towards nucleophiles was studied.
