Aim - to obtain reliable and representative information about the circulation and drug resistance of M. tuberculosis in Ukraine among patients with new cases and cases of retreatment with using modern phenotypic and genotypic methods of research. Methods - genetic, bacteriological, statistical. A system of management of quality researching in laboratories that perform microbiological diagnostics of tuberculosis at different levels of care was created, which establishes a unified approach to the creation, operation and controlling of quality of studies. It was found that among new cases of tuberculosis a multidrug resistance rate was 24,1 % and among previously treated patients - 58,1 %. It was revealed a high levels of resistance to anti-TB drugs of the 1-st line, especially to isoniazid - 37,3 % and rifampicin - 25,1 %, as well as resistance to the three and four anti0 TB drugs of the 1-st line, a significant number of strain of M. tuberculosis with enhanced resistance - 11,2 % and pre-extension resistance - 52,8 % A collection of 1550 MBT strain from patient with TB cases and previously treated patients who were identified as a result of epidemiological studies in Ukraine was created and is stored.
