The research is based on observations of 142 patients, including 120 patients with Parkinson's disease and 22 patients with torsion dystonia. The average age of patients with Parkinson's disease was 58.8 ± 5,4 years, mean duration of disease was 9.9 years. 32 patients were performed stereotactic unilateral talamotomy, 24 - unilateral pallidotomy, 20 - bilateral talamotomy, 22 - talamotomy and contralateral pallidotomy 12 - talamotomy and contralateral subtalamotomy and 8 patients - implantation system for bilateral deep brain stimulation of subthalamic nuclei. The study included 22 patients with torsion dystonia aged 12 to 52 years (mean 30.5 years). Stereotactic pallidotomy held 13 patients, implantation of neurostimulative system for bilateral stimulation into inner segment of globus palidus was held - 9 patients.Scientific novelty. A study showing differentiated approach to determine the indications for surgical treatment of Parkinson's disease and torsion dystonia proposing criteria for choosing the most adequate intervention in patients with severe disease smptoms .The practical significance.
