Parameter of function generator shift is developed, which takes into account additional object lighting. The use of subtraction operations of algebraic structures of logarithmic type provided reduction of influence of light heterogeneity in the analysis of digital images and enhanced their discernibility. The method of compensation of nonlinear geometric distortion structures of objects of circular welded joint of pipe caused by the nature of radiographic image formation. This made possible to establish the actual size of welding defects regardless of their position on the radiographic film. Experimentally shown that the relative error of the width of the defect is 1.7% and the relative error of defect depth decreased in half.
