The possibility of surface forming of reconstructed three-dimensional image and quantitative assessment of the critical crack opening in thickness (inside) samples is shown, which in principle can not be achieved by any other methods. The methods of profilogram construction by a series of scanning electron microscope images are built. The computerized tools are developed for quantitative analysis of images that in automatic mode select on a digital fractography image areas of brittle intergrain fracture and coupling destruction and calculate their quantitative characteristics. It is experimentally revealed that long exploited pipelines (45 years service) after hydropressing toughness in weld zone decreases with increasing number of cycles stop the process. However, in the structure of fracture the samples of brittle intergrain fracture are fixed both for the main power station and steel sample 10H2S1 pressed under pressure. The method of automated quantitative assessment of intergrain destruction part on fracture image іs developed. The high temperature degradation of steam pipe metal is studied. It is shown that the part of intergrain destruction in the near-threshold area of fatigue crack growth in exploited steel can serve as a basis for the diagnosis of her condition. The method of automated fracture image analysis based on multilevel thresholding is developed. Fractographic relieves of fracture are investigated by their images. It is shown that informative characteristics here are the traces of the particles at the bottom of pits, pit’s squares and squares of walls-membranes between pits. This made it possible to estimate quantitativly the dependence of the pit’s square change on the duration of the steam pipe exploitation.
