It has been established that presence of copper in oxide coatings (D16) increases Young's module, micro plasticity and its resistant ability for cracking. The optimal contents of copper and nickel in oxide coatings were revealed. It was proposed an acoustic-electrochemical method for determining the beginning of crack growing in oxide coatings. Plasma electrolytic coatings based on corundum with optimal content of nickel and copper inclusions have improved mechanical, tribological and wear resistant characteristics in condition cyclical and shock loads.
