Vlokh of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine popup.description2 Initial homogeneous samples of semiconductor chalcogenide glasses of As-Se binary system and borate glasses such as 97.0Li2B4O7-1.0Gd2O3-2.0Ag2O and 98.0Li2B4O7-2.0Ag2O were grown, their express-testing and diagnostics were carried out. Methodology of optical research, microstructural characterization by methods of atomic and atomic-lack amorphography and first principles quantum-chemical modeling of basic glass-forming clusters of obtained glasses were developed. Positron trapping in control samples of stoichiometric As2Se3, non-stoichiometric alloys As-Se and borate glasses Li2B4O7 was parameterized. The phenomenology was considered and microstructural mechanisms of silver nanoparticles formation were proposed in Li2B4O7: Gd, Ag and Li2B4O7: Ag glasses during annealing in vacuum and on the air by "bottom - up" method. A crucial role of structural defects in the formation of crystallization centres of Ag nanoparticles at high temperatures was demonstrated.
