The effect of manganese concentration on its distribution in the crystalline ingot has been determined. The shift of absorption and luminescence bands of Fe2+ ions versus increasing manganese concentration has been measured. For the first time, laser generation in CdMnTe:Fe2+ crystals has been attained in the mid-IR range with the highest lasing wavelength among AIIBVI:TM2+ compounds. A correlation between optical and lasing properties of ZnMnSe:Fe2+ crystals and their structure has been established.
