Research subject- groundwater, pore solutions in the low-permeable rocks within the north-western part of the Dnieper artesian basin. The aim of research is to perform regional assessment of natural protectability and vulnerability for the main exploitable aquifers and aquifer complexes within the Dnieper artesian basin (in its north-western part). Methods of research involve hydrogeological, hydro-chemical, chemical-analytical, hydrophysical methods and mathematical modeling. New methodologies to assess groundwater protectability have been proposed. Given methodologies are based on current trends in hydrogeology, such as mathematical modeling, isotope radio-hydrogeology, hydrochemistry of porous solutions in low permeable rocks and hydrophysics. R & D results can be used by enterprises of the State Geological Survey, water supply and sewerage company as well as sanitary- hygienic services.
