The subject of the scientific-technical work - methods and ways of improving the energy efficiency of a railway vehicle. The aim of the work - improving the energy efficiency of railway traction vehicle by creating of complex innovative technical solutions on the basis of identified energy reserves, based on the results of theoretical and fundamental research. Research methods include the method of system analysis. Study of the processes were carried out by means of simulation and mathematical modeling, solving the system of differential equations using the theory of similarity and dimension, probability theory and mathematical statistics. In examining the possibility of relative rotation of the comb relative to the surface of the wheel rolling around their common axis and JAI position wheelset used the methods of theoretical mechanics, mathematical modeling, theory of similarity and dimensional analysis, theory of decision-making, numerical methods of integration of differential equations with the use of electronic computers and applied programs Matlab, Mathcad, WinMachine. The methods used to develop the concept of energy conservation and principles of assessment and reduction of energy losses of cranes: theoretical and applied mechanics, theory of electric drive, differential and integral calculus, mathematical modeling, stability theory, numerical methods for integro-differential equations, theory of experiment planning. When developing evaluation and calculation of lifecycle costs of technical objects of railway transport used: system and synergistically approach and synthesis; logical analysis; economic-applied methods and models of modern management theory and decision-making; statistical methods; mathematical modeling; comparative analysis and expert evaluation method; methods of developing scenarios; methods of classification, clustering and groupings; descriptive analysis; applied system-integrated modelling methodology hierarchically-network systems; methods of graphical image analytical data, competency-based approach, holistic approach, method of logical generalization and synthesis. Methods of experimental studies that were used in the project consisted of physical modeling tests with real samples, full-scale installations, locomotives and wagons using proven techniques, the relevant GOST and DSTU. On the basis of an integrated approach of solving the problem of energy efficiency of a railway vehicle created the concept of energy saving vehicles, aimed at reducing power consumption without compromising performance; on the basis of carried out theoretical and experimental investigations developed recommendations and created technical solutions for improving energy, traction and brake characteristics of the locomotive, the increase of service life of wheels and rails, ensure the safety and smooth movement of railway transport in the conditions of operation of the rolling stock; performed a feasibility study of reducing the cost of friction in tribocontact the wheel and the rail; the concept of reducing power losses of the cranes, which provides for the establishment of a monitoring system of energy consumption of load-lifting machines, as well as its integration into the methodology for technical inspections of cranes; designed thermal model of friction pair, which allows to determine the temperature field in the brake pad, and the bulk temperature of the brake pulley/drive with switching operation of the braking device of VPM; created multifunctional measuring-analytical complex of monitoring of a technical condition of vehicles to ensure safe operation at all stages of the life cycle; developed a set of new and enhanced mathematical models and software and hardware friction interaction tribologic systems. According to the results of the research 4 candidate's and 1 doctoral thesis are protected, which is proven to increase the qualification level of members of research and recognition of research results. The main results obtained are used in the project "Luganskteplovoz" and "SPC "Transmash" companies with the carrying out of scientific-research and design works on creation and improvement of the undercarriage of the locomotives according to the plans of the new technology enterprises. A contract to conduct scientific-research and design-technological works (services) with "SPC "Transmash" to develop resource - saving control systems of traction engines and the production schedule drawn up for the work. The use of the obtained results - enterprises involved in the creation, refinement, and modernization of locomotives, diesel and electric, lifting equipment to ensure the safety and the efficiency of their operation.
