Purpose of the work: development of theoretical and methodological foundations and practical recommendations on legal responsibility for the offense in the information area on the basis of analytical and synthetic comprehension of achievements of scientists and practitioners of various branches of law, law-making and law enforcement practice in Ukraine, as well as international experience. Task for the work: is to determine the theoretical and legal principles, ways to improve current legislation of Ukraine and implementation mechanisms in the legal responsibility for the offense in the information sector (information offense) in conditions of information society formation. The study includes systematization and classification of offenses in the information sector in the implementation of new information technologies and varieties of information activities, addressing problems of administrative and civil liability for offenses and criminal responsibility for crimes in the sphere of information, ways to improve the relevant procedural rules, considering regulations of international information law and regulations of the EU and the state of their implementation in the legislation of Ukraine concerning responsibility for offenses in the information sector and formation of the offers having theoretical, methodological, organizational and legal content on this basis, preparation of scientifically justified recommendations. Research results: integrated, cross-sectoral analysis of the provisions and requirements of current legislation of Ukraine, international information law, international regulations and standards of the EU with regard to legal provision and implementation of legal responsibility for the offense in the information sector, the state and prospects of their implementation in the legislation of Ukraine, the study of jurisprudence on these issues, and the development of theoretical proposals and practical recommendations for improving the current legislation of Ukraine.
