It is shown that after isothermal quenching at 330 °С the bainitic reaction is accompanied by formation of austenitic phase with a size of 25-40 nm in cross-section stabilized by carbon and alloying additions. It is found that a phase transformation occurs under plastic deformation of bainitic cast iron quenched isothermically at 350 °С. A fifth of remained austenite transforms into martensite.
