Using meta-analysis of the data from databases and from previous results obtained by the authors of this project, potential markers (i.e. abnormally methylated DNA and differentially expressed genes) of kidney and brain cancers will be selected. Epigenetic state of target genes from cell-free circulating DNA in blood from healthy controls and kidney cancer patients before and after surgery will be determined. In the scope of present study we want to characterize (the functions and mechanism of action - par example) of Chitinase 3 like 1 protein (CHI3L1), which was shown to be overexpressed in high malignancy grades of brain tumors. Besides we are aimed to identify the potential receptor of CHI3L1 to understand in more details the mechanism of its action.
