For multilayer composites Al-Pb radiation-protective properties to the gamma rays are more dependent on increasing the number of layers than increasing their thickness. By vacuum arc method from filtered plasma were deposited two-component nanostructured metal coatings ZrTi, ZrCr, ZrNb, ZrY and from unfiltered flow of plasma were obtained nanostructured wear resistant coatings - Cr-O-N. Were investigated the mechanical properties of the coatings depending on the composition of alloying elements. We obtained samples of W, Ta, and W-Ta coatings and studied their erosion after sputtering by gas (H2, N2, Ar) ions with energies of about 1 keV. It was shown that the admixture of tantalum with tungsten coating within 2 ? 16% are linear reduces coefficient of erosion at irradiation with light hydrogen ions.
