The technical and physical characteristics of the existing deposits are shown. The main reasons that limit the use of the salt coal in fuel and energy complex of Ukraine are determined. The main common factors and specific features of the coal desalination process (removal or reduction of contaminants), as well as the direct use of the salt coal following the different technologies are considered, the efficiency of its use is evaluated. The experimental studies of the coal desalination process by means of water washing are made. The influence of a number of factors is defined, such as: the coal contact duration with water, the water/coal weights ratio, as well as the conditions under which the contact of the coal with water is made (the intensity and character of mixing, the environment temperature, the size of particles, the water medium mineralization). On the basis of the dependencies obtained, the technical decision which is based on the possibility of the salt coal desalination at the coal preparation plants where the necessary equipment is available - crushing, dehydrating, drying. The analysis of flowsheets and technologies using at coal preparation plants is made. The specifications, working regimes and parameters of the different devices and machines of the up-to-date coal preparation plants, where water as medium for preparation is used, are studied. The studies on the water resource definition were studied. The combustion reaction kinetic characteristics of the salt and desalted coal particles are determined.
