The investigation purpose: determination of university culture functioning features in the Ukrainian intellectual space, and, preeminently, universities role in the process of the European values approval in the XX - beginning of the XXI century. The investigation methods: historical and genetic, historical and comparative, as well as historical typology method. At the same time modern information technologies were also used. Relational database of symbols and logos of Ukrainian universities in DBMS MS Access was lined up to analyze visual sources. The attained results allowed to uncover the main stages and effects, the degree of intensity and mechanisms of transfer and adaptation of European values in Ukraine through universities, which took place during the XIX - the beginning of the XXI century.
