Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 It was found a tendency that human tumor cells with different EMT status characterized by different sensitivity to anticancer drugs: mesenchymal cells are more sensitive to chemotherapy with antimetabolites activity, while the epithelial cells are more sensitive to drug with alkylating and DNA damaging activity. It is shown that low doses of chemotherapy during prolonged effect on cells inhibit the expression of EMT markers in colon cancer cells and their malignant characteristics. For the first time established a new mechanism of antitumor action of bisphosphonates - with "anti EMT" activity. It was shown synergistic effect of TNF with IFN in breast cancer cells that promotes cell death and cytogenetic damage. Transduction of tumor cells of mouse melanoma and carcinoma by recombinant baculovirus with IFN beta gen significantly inhibits the expression of EMT markers, proliferation, tumorigenicity, cytogenetic stability, metastasis in vivo and increases sensitivity to chemotherapy. Therapeutic use of human xenogeneic tumor cells after transduction by rBV / IFN syngeneic inhibits the growth of tumors in mice with Lewis carcinoma and stimulates the thymus hyperplasia. For the first time found that IFN and some antitumor drugs in low dose have induction and selective activity against population of tumor cell; is accompanied by changes in their immunophenotypical characteristics towards a more mature epithelial phenotype and significant loss of their malignancy.
