Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 The significance of hormonal imbalances such as high concentrations of estradiol and progesterone deficiency in peripheral blood serum of endometrial cancer patients, high sensitivity of peripheral blood lymphocytes to genotoxic action of estrogen metabolite 4-hydroxyestradiol, phenotypic characteristics of tumors and elements of the tumor microenvironment for the progression of neoplastic process was established. The association between a high number of FOXP3+ intratumural lymphocytes, low amount of cells expressing steroid hormone receptors, low FOXP3 expression in tumor cell and such determinant of tumor aggressiveness as high proliferative activity, low grade of differentiation and deep tumor invasion in the myometrium was found for the first time. It was shown that endometrial carcinoma from patients with duration of menopause more than 10 years was characterized by a decrease in the number of tumor cells expressing steroid hormone receptors and FOXP3 and increasing number of FOXP3+ intratumoral lymphocytes, tumor-associated Type II macrophages and microvessel density compared to patients with preserved menstrual function. It was found that high proliferative potential, a large number of FOXP3+ intratumoral lymphocytes, low number of FOXP3+ tumor cells and increased estradiol concentrations in peripheral blood serum are the factors that determine the deep tumor invasion into the myometrium. Obtained data reflect the 'tumor-host' interactions and is a fundamental basis for the assessment of individual endometrial cancer prognosis. Product Description popup.authors Брєєва О.В.
