Object of study - the epidemic process of influenza, influenza viruses strains, genetic sequence of influenza virus RNA, amino acid sequences of influenza virus proteins. Research Methods - epidemiological, virological, serological, molecular-genetic, statistical. It was estableshed the effect of changes in etiological structure of influenza virus population in Ukraine in 2009-2014 on nature of the epidemic process. Significant changes of epidemic etiological factor (the emergence of a new pandemic strain A (H1N1) pdm) caused the highest incidence rates in the country. The period after the pandemic was characterized by unusual early start of influenza virus B circulation. Flu seasons in 2012-2013 and 2013-2014, caused by not new pathogens, characterized by a low level of epidemic process. Strain A / Texas / 50/2012 A (H3N2) was the leading agent of influenza epidemic in 2013-2014.. It was constructed phylogenetic trees by neighbors joining method (NJ), and was defined the genetic similsrity of studied isolates to isolates from other countries and to vaccine strains. Amino acid sequences were analyzed and found substitution in hemagglutinin and neuraminidase in influenza A (H3N2) , A (H1N1) pdm and B genetic branch / Yamagata human viruses. Genetic analysis of Ukrainian influenza viruses showed the absence of specific mutations associated with resistance to oseltamivir, which confirmed their sensitivity to the drug. For the first time the results of genetic analysis revealed the entering of epidemic strains to Ukraine from other countries for all subtypes of human influenza virus genetic lines. Within the scientific research work it was obtained a patent for utility model; Research conducted one workshop; made 5 presentations at scientific conferences; 1 published articles, abstracts and 3 3 article for publication, one of them - in foreign journals; sent to the Ministry of Health and State sanitary-epidemiological service to consider the draft order "Organization of preventive and anti-epidemic measures for seasonal and pandemic influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in Ukraine"; prepared a forecast of annual flu in 2014-2015 and sent to the Ministry of Health and Gossanepidsluzhby Ukraine.
