Purpose - to study the peculiarities of metformin and funhidolu on prooxidant-antioxidant balance and thyroid status of animals in natural conditions and accelerated aging. Methods - spektrofotometriya, fluorometry and biochemical activity of enzymes and metabolites content. Established that long-term use of metformin and funhidol significantly slowed the reduction of thyroxine, akonitase activity and increased lipid peroxidation products in the blood and liver of old rats. The use of metformin and funhidol normalized activity of all studied isoenzymes Se-dependent glutathione in the liver and blood. In rats with accelerated aging (due to excessive and unbalanced nutrition) content hydroperoxides lipids in the blood and liver mitochondria was higher compared to the control animals, and the use of metformin and funhidolu normalized content of lipid peroxidation products. The use of metformin and funhidolu normalized the activity of all studied isoenzymes Se-dependent glutathione in the liver and blood.
