Purpose - to improve the efficiency of complex treatment of patients with cancer of the oral cavity by applying concurrent chemo-radiation therapy and surgery. Research Methods and apparatus: clinical, clinical, laboratory, radiologic, pathologic, statistics, single photon emission computed tomography "OFET." A comprehensive treatment of 108 patients with cancer of the oral cavity was provided: 55 using at the first phase induction chemotherapy and radiation therapy in 53 patients with concurrent chemo-radiation therapy. The analysis of the immediate results of treatment showed the advantages of using a simultaneous chemo radiotherapy in relation to the induction chemoradiotherapy. Complete tumor regression was obtained by almost 9.8% higher (18.9% vs. 9.1%). Reduction of tumor size of more than 50% was observed in 28.3% and 18.2%, respectively. These direct and immediate results have shown that the use of concurrent chemo-radiation therapy at the first stage of complex treatment of patients with oral cancer yielded significantly better locoregional control and perform ablative surgery in 47.2% of patients, 19.9% more than in induction of chemo-radiation therapy (27.3%). Using concurrent chemo-radiotherapy in treatment of patients with oral cancer will shorten treatment at 3-9 weeks depending on the number of induction chemotherapy, prevents the occurrence of cases of disease progression after failure of induction chemotherapy.
