PCP is caused with an opportunistic fungal pathogen Pneumocystis jirovecii. PCP and bacterial pneumonia are treated differently. Therefore, rapid diagnostic and identification PCP is a obligatory step for successful treatment. There is no specific diagnostic of PCP in Ukraine. There is only cytological analysis of sputum, bronchoalveolar fluid or biopsy material used to detect PCP. Diagnostic test for quick identification of Pneumocystis jirovecii in clinic samples was developed and implemented.
