The object of the research is the natural systems on the territory of the Danube Biosphere Reserve (DBR). The aim was monitoring DBR ecosystems, conservation of biodiversity in protected areas combined with rational use of natural resources, support for traditional types of economic activities of the local population for sustainable development in the region of the Danube Delta. The study of flora and fauna carried out in accordance with generally accepted methods of geobotanical, hydrobiological, ichthyological, herpetolohichnyh, and theriological ornithological research. During the performance received materials about the impact on the territory of the Danube Biosphere Reserve shipping allowable or condition of the reeds, the impact of adjustable hydraulic phytomelioration and optimization of fisheries, controlled grazing and recreational and tourist activity. Every year prepared the volumes of "Chronicles of Nature". The practical result of research became grounds for rational use of natural resources and the introduction of limits on these activities. The results are used in the activity of natural resources, local authorities, universities, objects of nature reserve fund of Ukraine and other research institutions.
