The aim of the study is to develop a method for determining the efficiency of a task force of the National Guard of Ukraine assigned for the containment and resolution of the conflict. The method takes into account the specific methodology for assessing the predicted structure and nature of the illegal armed groups. The study clarifies concepts relating to the nature of armed conflict within the state, gives classification of armed conflicts on different bases and proves the role and place of the National Guard of Ukraine participating in the containment and resolution of such conflicts of varying intensity and scale. Methods include: general theoretical and empirical methods based on the principles of art of war; techniques of logical scenario, situational, pseudo-logic simulation, system-structural and systemic-functional analysis, operations research. The practical significance of the results of the study is their potential use: - to improve the national legal framework; - to support the decision-making process to deploy task forces of Ukraine National Guard while participating in the containment and resolution of armed conflict within the state; - for the reform and reconstraction planning, training and development of the National Guard of Ukraine.
