The subject of the study is the relationship between the speed of dissolution of the compositions and the parameters of the sorting hump with the performance of the sorting complex under conditions of variable intensity of the incoming train flow to the disbanding. The solution of individual problems was carried out using simulation modeling, numerical methods for solving differential equations, shunting theory methods, probability theory and mathematical statistics, queuing theory, experiment planning and optimization. As a result of work: the analysis of modern directions of increase of an overall performance of sorting complexes of stations is executed; Parameters of incoming train flow to the dismantling, technical equipment and performance indicators of sorting complexes of railway stations in Ukraine; A study was made of the effect of the dissolution rate of the compositions and the height of the sorting roller on the quality indicators of the sorting process for various parameters of the input train flow to the dismantling; The process of functioning is formalized and the imitating model of the sorting complex is improved as a managed queuing system; A procedure is proposed for choosing the rational rate of dissolution of the formulations and the sorting roller coaster in operational conditions.
