Object of study - planktonic and benthic aquatic community of the Black Sea.Purpose - assessment of the quality of ecosystems of the marine environment by biological methods. Research Methods - studies on aquatic population (biocenotical) level, in which the state recorded plankton and benthic communities of marine ecosystems. The report presents the results of observations of hydrobiological component of the marine environment of the Black Sea in 2016, and the assessment of according to environmental criteria and indicator species assessed the state of biota and determined its diagnosis. Marked structural changes in aquatic communities and identified weak trend of improving their condition. Processes of influence of extracted sediment contaminants (from the marine environment) upon the population of microalgae were modelled in the laboratory. The trophic level of marine waters showed weak trend towards improvement (by the complex of indicators). In coastal areas of northwestern Black Sea shelf in 2016 the "bloom" of water by algae Nodularia spumigema and Diplosalis lenticula was noted, and also there was registered hypoxia in the bottom layer of the Danube waters in August.
